Dandelion in full splendor.

A dandelion. I captured this image using a reversed 50mm lens. Reversed lens make for great inexpensive macro tools. A reversing ring is about $10 from somewhere like BHPhotovideo.com and a manual 50mm F2 or so lens can be had for practically nothing.

Amazing detail–I never knew dandelions had those little curly bits in the middle, and I actually like dandelions! I really appreciate your comments about equipment in some of these shots, too. It’s really great of you to share info this way.

I didn’t realize it either until I was looking at one up close. That is one of the things I love about photography, it really forces you to take notice of your surroundings.
